Derana Dream Stars Australian Concert 2012 was held at the prestigious Hills Centre on 20th October in front of packed audience. It was one of the best event held in Sydney and organised to celebrate 7 years of Lanka Vision and to launch Lanka Vision’s 24×7 ‘ Derana ‘ TV Channel.
The Derana Dream Star team comprising more than 20 members flew in directly from Sri Lanka for the event. They were assisted by additional Technical/stage support provided by our Australian teams together with a number of talented local dance troupes Sanka Ridma Dance ensemble lead by Dinesh Perera and female dance troupe coordinated by Chamila Weragama.
AO2 one of Sri Lanka’s leading bands who are also the official “Dream Star” band performed at the event, lead by ever popular Athula Adikari.
Sri Lanka’s leading female playback singer Uresha Ravihari entertained the audience with a number of popular film songs including songs from “Kusa Paba”, “Aasai Mang Piyabanna” and “Anjalika”
The biggest highlight of the evening was Derana Little Star Himasha Manupriya. Himasha is the number one little star in Sri Lanka today and he entertained the audience with his own songs as well popular songs in Sinhala, Tamil, Hindi and English.
Overall, this was a spectacular event organised by TV Derana and Lanka Vision to showcase the capabilities in providing high end entertainment. The concert was produced by Kithsiri Karunaratne of Yasiru Multimedia Pty ltd, the leading Sri Lankan event management company in Australia.
