Muthuhara Australia open day

“Muthuhara” of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Cooperation is the most famous and well known children’s program in Sri Lanka. In 2009 it expanded overseas, when the first of its international branch named “Muthuhara Australia” was formed in Sydney.

On Sunday 26th February 2012, Muthuhara Australia held its annual “Open Day” in the presence of their patron Mr Maitri Panagoda. Sri Lankan Consul General in Sydney Mr S Wijesundara, Sri Lankan Consul Mr Sarath Rupasiri, the president of The Sinhalese Cultural Forum Mr Daya Siriwardene and the renowned Sri Lankan Musician Dr Shelton Premaratne were among the honoured guests.

The main goal of the event was to promote what Muthahara stands for among the general community. There were speeches, dramas, dances and songs performed to live music. It was moving to hear about the experiences of Muthuhara members from different age groups. The greatest success of the event was that fifteen children signed up to be a part of the Muthuhara family.
